CLE Browns (11-6) vs HOU Texans (10-7) (Sat)
Final Score: Texans 45, Browns 14
Texans advance to the Divisional Round…
Cj has himself a record day at home…
This young man had himself a day dropping a total of 274 yards and 3 TD’s (Which tied the NFL rookie record.) and led the Texans to a jaw dropping victory over the Browns. This game was close early and then the Texans blew it open with 2 interceptions returned for TD’s to kick off the second half. The Texans ground game allowed them to hold and expand the lead after the defense made it a blow out in the early 3rd. When the final bell rang the Texans had secured a spot in the Divisional round and the Browns were on their way home…
What's next for Flacco and the Browns?...
That leaves me with the Browns who were on their 3rd or 4th string QB at this point and it was a miracle that they were even 11-5 yet alone in the playoffs. They reached the playoffs with former Raven Joe Flacco at the helm, I don't even think he was on the roster to start the season, they just had so many injuries at QB that they signed him off his couch so to speak. He was playing well coming into this game so this game was a surprise and not what the Browns needed because their top defense didn't really play that well on the road all season long. So you can say it was bad defense, you can say it was 2 Pick 6’s given up by Flacco or if you were me you could say it was an entire team shitting the bed.
Now as for next year I think this team will look alot different and will be a lot more competitive. With the returns of Watson, Chubb and one of their best O-Lineman the Browns will be a big threat to the Ravens and their hold on the top of the AFC North…
Final thoughts…
Overall this was a great game the Texans only led by 7 at the half, it was in the 2n half that the game became a blowout. Next year should there be a rematch this game will be a lot closer. But this year was the year of the young buck and it started not with the number 1 pick (Bryce Young) but with a young man from Ohio State who along with his Rookie Head Coach (Ryans), brought a franchise back to life..
