Everybody's making a big deal about whether or not Eli Manning is going to play this weekend against the Raiders. Fact of the matter is, and put much like the most electrifying man to ever lace up a pair of wrestling boots would say "IT DOSEN'T MATTER!!!!" who the Giant's start on Sunday, because the raiders are going to lose the game regardless. It would be smart of New York to sit Eli as soon as the game is over. which the way it look's now should be somewhere just before half time.
Don't get me wrong, i maybe Radier hating but i don't hate the Raiders. I am a loyal fan who has accepted the reality of the state of the franchise. After all it is the same reality we have come to know for the past six years. A team that features a solid defense that could be great if the offense was mediocre at best. Granted, it is a young offense, with young players that may one day soon be weapons. But at some point in time that offense has to begin to show some signs of progress. Take two steps forward, if it's going to take one step back instead of being the other way around.
In the end it all points to the offensive line once again. Russell needs more time to complete passes to recievers who must catch the football. And the three headed monster at the running back position will never be more than three angry puppies if the Raiders don't do something about developing an offensive line, or playcalling strategy that can get them the yards needed in order for the Raider passing game to become effective. And if Tom Cable's area of expertise is the offensive line then how long is it going to take to see some results.
By once again showing nothing but utter dissary the Raiders have once again set themselves up for another top five pick in the draft. In analyzing thier schedule ahead that can at best do no better than 8-8. The Giant's in New York, then the Eagles and The Jets at home before going back on the road to San Deigo spells 0-4 for the Raiders from here heading into the bye week. Maybe, on the hopes of a dream bouncing off the wing of a prayer, maybe the raiders can pull off a win against one of those teams. San Deigo on a good day,(for the raiders) and just to save the chance of hope the Eagles or the Jets on a bad day,(for the Eagles or the Jets)But regardless they don't stand a chance against the still undefeated Giants.
The bye week is about the only good news for the Raiders this season, because coming out of it they get Kansas City. This should be a win for the Raiders, who then get Cincinatti the following week which looks like a game that is steadily getting harder for the Raiders to win. so they probably won't. Dallas on Thanksgiving, and the Steelers the week after mean's Oakland will continue to slide closer to that number one pick in the draft. In order to pull off a win against Dallas, the Raiders must beat either Philly or New York at home with a win against San Deigo and the win in Cincinatti.
If all begins to look like it's going to start going the right way then the loss to Pittsburg shouldn't keep Oakland from bouncing back against Washington, giving them enough confidence to beat Denver, get the expected win against Cleveland, before finishing the season with the loss to Baltimore.
You can dou the math if you want to, at worst, which will probably be the likely scenario, The Raiders finish 4-12 once again. Maybe they can finish 6-10, or 7-9, but they cant do any better than 8-8.
