This particular matchup was one that I thought I could win. I drafted a team with some of the top names in the game of football today. But alas it was not enough and it didn't take very long for my week to go off the rails as RB Elijah Mitchell and WR Keenan Allen went down with injury in the 1st quarter of their respective games. That pretty much killed any chance I had of a win as I watched my team flounder to a loss.
High Scorers: QB J.Herbert (LAC) 25.86pts, RB N.Chubb (CLE) 14.80pts, TE Z.Ertz (ARI) 10.40pts

In my first ESPN League I had a pretty excellent week one as almost all but one member of my starting lineup over-achieved from their projections. But the most impressive one for me was WR Justin Jefferson (30.4) from the Vikings as he came in 18+ points over what he was projected as he had a monster day against the Packers. I dodge a bullet starting Tannahill (22.34) over Lawrence as Tannahill had a big game in a loss to the Giants and was able to up an extra 5 points than he was projected. These two and a great day from Michael Pittman Jr (18.1) lead me to a victory in this league…
High Scorers: WR J.Jefferson (MIN) 30.4pts, QB R.Tannahill (TEN) 22.34pts, WR M.Pitman Jr (IND) 18.1pts

This was a throwaway league for me, something to kind of fill the time and my first matchup was a tough one, at least tougher than I thought as I was projected to win by 6+ points. Four players went over their projections for me, the other 5 greatly disappointed me, and even if I had started the Bucs defense (12.0) and RB N.Hines (IND) (11.4) still wouldn't have helped me win this game. So even though I had a great week 112.46 points I lost big time to an opponent who had an even better week with 6 players over 10 pts and 4 of them over 20 pts. Looks like i will have to buck up and come back next week…
Highest Scorers: WR A.Brown (PHI) 25.3pts, QB J.Herbert (LAC) 23.26pts, RB N.Chubb (CLE) 15.3pts

I have always struggled with these NFL.com Fantasy leagues in the early weeks, then at some point during the season my team puts it all together (kind of like my favorite team the 49ers.) Last season I was in the championship game for both leagues last year and walked away with the title. I don't know if the Fields/Lance combination may not work for me in the long run, I need a QB who can consistently put up numbers and Lance's 9pts didn't cut it, and then there was TE Cole Kmet who produced a whopping 0 points in week 1. Having me already in week 1 surfing the waiver wire looking to improve my team.
Highest Scorers: WR M.Pittman Jr (IND) 22.60pts, RB A.Dillon (GB) 17.60pts, RB D.Cook (MIN) 12.30pts

With this league it's kind of like the ESPN league i spoke of earlier, it's a throw away league that i don't really care if i win or not. But this loss really stung because if I had just started Jerry Juedy WR (DEN) (27.70) over Alvin Kamara RB (NO) (8.50) I would have won Week 1 but instead I let the “NFL Optimizer” fill out my league. This is what happens when you let a computer do your thinking. Overall I will eventually bounce back cause like i said with the previous team in these NFL leagues i always have a slow start to the season and finish strong. Next week after finishing this one 1-4 i will make the moves i need to make to turn this bad boy around next week….
Highest Scorers: RB J.Taylor (IND) 33.10pts, QB K.Murray (ARI) 29.95pts, WR A.Brown (PHI) 27.50pts
