This week saw 4
amazing games of football starting on Saturday with the Bills pulling of the
upset (I only call it that because I am a LJ8 fan) and dropping the Ravens at
home to gain a trip to face the Chiefs in KC. Why? Because on Sunday Mahomes
and the Chiefs were able to withstand the team of destiny in the Cleveland
Browns, and advance to the AFC Championship for the second straight year. On
the NFC side of things, we opened the weekend with a dominant 3 TD performance
by Aaron Rodgers and the Packers beating Goff and the Rams in Lambeau. Then we
closed the weekend with a amazing and surprisingly dominant win by Tom Brady
and the Bucs as they rolled over the Saints on the way to TB12’s 14th
conference championship game and first in the NFC...
AFC Championship:
(2) Buffalo Bills (15-3) at (1) Kansas City Chiefs (15-2)
I truly do not know
what to expect from this game both teams have good defenses led by veteran lineman
(Frank Clark KC and Ed Oliver BUF) and offenses led by young and hungry QB’s
(Mahomes KC and Allen BUF). There is a significant difference in coaching with
Reid having the edge over Sean McDermott with the fact that he won the Super
Bowl last year. I think that the Bills have everything it takes to beat the Chiefs
which is exactly why the Chiefs will win this game in a close one because the
49ers had everything, they needed to beat the Chiefs last year and they still
lost.
Prediction: (1) Kansas
City Chiefs 28-25
NFC Championship:
(5) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (13-5) at (1) Green Bay Packers (14-3)
When you look
back over this season you will see that the three QB’s who stood out this
season were Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers, and so
far in this year’s playoffs 3 of those QB’s are still alive. This matchup will
hopefully be better than the last one that was dominated by the Buc’s in Tampa
38-10, this will not happen again even though I do not expect the result to
change. Another reason I make this pick is because if TB12 was to win the SB
this year it would be the most impressive run by a QB in NFL history. Beating a
young Washington team in round 1 then taking out Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers and
Patrick Mahomes to win his 7th Super Bowl would easily make him the
undisputed GOAT.
Prediction:
(5) Tampa Bay Buccaneers 24-20
