AFC Wild Card Round

Texans beat Bills 22-19 in OT - In a game that was about as evenly matched as they come the Texans pulled out the victory after being down 16-0 to Bills thru the first half. Texans QB Deshaun Watson went 20/25for almost 250yrds and 1TD but the play he made that won the game for the Texans will never show up in the box score, he has proven himself to be a force to be reckoned with in the coming decade. The Bills put up one hell of a game as like I said they took a early 13-0 lead at half time but only being able to muster 6 points in the 2nd half and overtime. In what was a amazing way to kick off the weekend and it was only the beginning of things to come…

Titans beat Patriots 20-13 – This game was a shocker because we may have seen the last of the Patriots dynasty as we have known it. The Patriots fought hard in this loss but some bad plays late (including a Pick-6) and TB12’s inability to lead the team on a drive for a game winning FG late in the 4th quarter cost the team the ability to move on. This game was nip and tuck as the best defense in football statistically held the Titans to under 300 yrds total in the game. It was the offenses inability to move the ball at all in the 2nd half that cost the defending champs as they eventually accepted their fate and went to the locker room with 2 losses to finish a promising season. The Titans move on to face the #1 seed Ravens in Baltimore next week…

NFC Wild Card Round

Vikings beat Saints 26-20 in OT – This was the second thrilling OT game on the weekend and let me say that the Viking surprised me, and the Saints disappointed me. As a 49ers fan I had more faith in the Vikings to pull off this win than I did in the Eagles to beat the Seahawks. The Vikings pulled off an upset after giving up a 10pt lead late in the game to allow the Saints to tie the game. The last play was a iffy call where a OPI was uncalled that allowed Rudolph to catch the game winning touchdown in overtime. For the 2nd time in 3 years the Saints are sent packing in a home game against the Vikings on a OT touchdown and that has got to hurt…

Seahawks beat Eagles 17-9 – In the final game of the weekend the Seahawks and Eagles played a defensive battle that was won by the team with the better QB. I’m not talking Wilson/Wentz I’m talking Wilson/McCown who both had terrific drives for their teams only difference was that Wilson scored touchdowns when he got in the red zone and McCown turned up with FG’s. Overall the Eagles and Seahawks was a game worth watching and the Seahawks got the well-deserved victory by depending on their defense and a young man named DK Metcalf who put up 160yrds and 1td in the game…
