Double K’s Take:

Mr LeBron comes to Los Angeles...

Let the LeBron James era begin...

This summer was the summer of the big splash in the NBA offseason. Names like Carmelo Anthony and Paul George, Kevin Durant and LeBron James. James was something a little different as he is in the twilight of his career. The rest all returned to their current squads and George went back on a long term deal. Anthony will get bought out and will most likely land with the Rockets. The Lakers look to add another super star in free agency or via trade, this is where the Spurs come into play. Kawhi Leonard will be a coveted free agent in 2019, this year he is a Spur until Pop and Spurs GM say so. Now all you get in LA is The King, Lance Stephenson, Javale McGee and Rajon Rondo. Not a bad group of players and the Lakers will compete (Not for a championship) but they should be in the playoffs this year and should make it out the first round unless they face the Warriors in Round 1.

The Offseason where the King chose his kingdom...

This off season the King got to choose his kingdom, this is a choice he has exercised before. The decision in 2010 was spectacular and LBJ put on a show, even down to the moment when he makes the announcement he made sure that he was in full diva status. This time he let the news break quietly (compared to 2010) o sportscenter and watch all little reporters scramble to get the scoop. This time he had chose the city of angels the legacy, he had chosen 16 titles and the pressure that had come with it. Most importantly he had chosen the Western Conference. He didn't run away from the challenge, he even chose the same division as his nemesis and personal rival the Golden State Warriors. For the 1st time in his career i have respect for LeBron for choosing the hardest path to a championship and not looking to stay in the east where he dominated and represented the east in the finals for 8 straight years.  I believe that he will have an impact in LA on and off the court, LeBron is an amazing human being and is extremely generous. What he can do on the court is directly determined by the fate of the Warriors moving forward if they stay together for the next 4+ years then he is in trouble...

The Cavaliers look to Compete without James...

These last 4 seasons has been one hell of a ride, LeBron James came back to Cleveland 4 years ago and made the homecoming of a lifetime. He came back and with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love they became a powerhouse in the Eastern Conference as they went to the next 4 finals in a row. The only problem for James and the Cavs was that the Warriors came to be around the same time. They were able to beat James without his crew in year one, and year two Kyrie, James and Love were able to get their revenge beating the Warriors in a epic 7 game series. The last 2 years have been firmly in the Warriors court as they went 8-1 against James and the Cavs the past 2 years
Those glory days went with James to LA as the Cavs are left with noone but K Love and JR Smith to work with as far as trying to compete. Good thing for them is that the East just got a lot weaker with LeBron heading to the west. Boston and Philly are the cream of the crop in the East and it will most likely be one of those teams that reach the finals. That's probably for the next 10 years, the Cavs can compete they have  the makings of a solid squad we will see how it plays out on the court this season. This time around both Cleveland and LeBron saved face and both look like gold...at least in my humble opinion
