Double K's Take: NFL Season Preview (Pt.4 AFC East)

Part 4 AFC East

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (Predicted Finish: 13-3, Division Winners): This Patriots team seems pretty special, I know that’s not saying much considering they are the reigning NFL Champs. They went out this season and added both Brandon Cooks and Phillip Dorsett to what was the weakest part of the team last season at wide out. When you add those 2 to Edelman, Gronk and Amendola you get a receiving core that any starting QB in the league would want. But they are playing with possibly the greatest QB to ever play the game. This will be another season that the Pats could go 18-0 but I don’t think they will but 13-3 is nice enough…

NEW YORK JETS (Predicted Finish: 7-9, No Playoffs): The Jets are a team that is still in shambles and have been since they let go of Rex Ryan, now I’m not the biggest fan of Ryan. I never was but when he was at the helm of that team they were interesting and not to say current coach Todd Bowles isn’t a great coach but that team is nowhere near where it could be if he had stayed. But I know that they wouldn’t be on the verge of another under .500 season and another year out of the playoffs…

MIAMI DOLPHINS (Predicted Finish: 6-10, No Playoffs): Now the Dolphins are another team that is full of expectations that I don’t personally think they will live up to, not that the Dolphins aren’t a talented bunch of players. I just don’t think that they will turn out to be a cohesive unit, first they lost QB Ryan Tannahill for the season before the preseason started and had to sign veteran QB Jay Cutler to a 1yr 10M deal to take the helm for this season. This is the primary reason I don’t believe that the Dolphins will play well or make the playoffs this season…

BUFFALO BILLS (Predicted Finish: 5-11, No Playoffs): The Bills are led by the enigmatic head coach Rex Ryan, that unffortunatly will not help them as they have seen fit to get rid of almost every complimentary piece from last years team. Watkins (LAR) and Goodwin (SF) have both left for the NFC West and RB Gillispie left for a division rival in the Patriots. There is not much left there for Ryan to work with but he has made the playoffs with this much or possibly less. But this wont be one of those years….
