NFL Champion: Denver Broncos (AFC) (15-4)
My Take: In a season that really didn't have much to offer for me being a 49ers fans, i can say that this season had some interesting storylines. First i'll start with the rise of the Oakland Raiders and Carolina Panthers, the Raiders were a surprise team that almost made the leap to a playoff team. They definitely made their mark and proved that should Manning retire that the Raiders may be the next team to own the division. A young core (Carr and Cooper/Crabtree and Murray) will make them potent. Their defense will need to be replenished and they have the cap room to do that and i think they will. The Panthers finished 17-2 and were the hottest ticket in the game before they ran into the buzzsaw that was the Broncos defense and fell flat on their faces. I can't say much about the antics by the league MVP Newton he was what we knew he was before he went into the super bowl. He is a fun winner and a not so gracious loser. Can they get back to the SB is the question and i think the answer yes, just not next year they will have to earn their way back and get the victory that they should have had this year….
The rest of the NFL outside of Dallas was pretty quiet except for the train wreck that was the Cleveland Browns and their embattled QB Johnny Manziel. Coming into the league he was considered the savior of the Browns that he was the young energetic QB that was finally end the drought that has been the past 20 years in Cleveland. Alas none of that was to be as Manziel has effectively flunked out of the NFL and will probably be sidelined for awhile is the Cowboys or Texans or some other QB hungry team signs him out of desperation. He should be spending more days at home in the coming days...
