Double K’s MLB Season Wrap Up: 2015: Oakland Athletics...

Oakland Athletics (68-94, Last place in AL West, no Post Season)...

If you go back even one calendar year from the start of 2015 MLB season and the Oakland Athletics were the toast of the town. They were also contenders for the World Series, they had one of the top pitching rotations in baseball and a bullpen most teams would kill for. They went all in on Lester and figured they could get at least one title out of this run. When the 2014 season finished the Athletics were watching their cross town rivals in the Giants win another title….

Fast forward to the 2015 season, and you have a team that lost a lot during the offseason and didn't look anything like the team that came so close to winning the AL West title and was within a couple of innings of advancing to the ALDS in 2014. josh Donaldson and Jon Lester were among some of the bigger names that were replaced with the likes of Brett Lawrie and company. The Athletics struggled thru the season and limped to a almost last place finish in the division and completely out of the playoff race. There is alot of hope moving into the upcoming season but last year showed us that the A’s are always one or two pieces away from being title contenders….
