Double K’s Classroom NFL Week 14 Review: Oakland Raiders (4-8) vs. New York Jets (5-7)

Week #14: Oakland Raiders at New York Jets

Raiders (M.McGloin 18/31 245yrds 2TD 1INT, M.Reece 19car 123yrds 1TD, R.Streater 7rec 130yrds 1TD): This was another game that I called winnable for the Raiders and they did everything that they could to make sure that they didn’t win. The new starting QB McGloin looked good in the Raiders’ offense and so did wide out Rod Streater who went for over 125+ yards in the air and a touchdown. Where the Raiders failed was on the defensive side of the ball as the defense could seem to stop the Jets offense if their life depended on it!! They forced a INT, but outside of that the Raiders let Geno Smith impose his will on them…

Jets (G.Smith 16/25 219yrds 1D 1INT, C.Ivory 18car 76yrds 1TD, K.Winslow 3rec 61yrds): The Jets on the other hand were playing for their coaches job and needed this victory to inch closer to the playoffs in the AFC. The offensive numbers don’t support a blowout and neither does the score. This was a blowout the Jets defense held the Raiders offense at critical times and allowed the Jets defense to manhandle the Raiders offensive front. The Jets offense were just able to take advantage of what the defense gave them. Overall Jets just wanted it more than the Raiders….

Final Score: Jets 37, Raiders 27
