Week 2: San Diego
Chargers at Philadelphia Eagles
Chargers (P.Rivers
36/47 419yrds 3TD, R.Matthews 16car 73yrds, A.Gates 8rec 124yrds): The
Chargers knew coming into this game that they were going to have a hard time
keeping up with the Eagles offense. Not only did they do that but they managed
to pull off the victory and do it without any necessity for overtime. A game
that saw TE Gates go off for over 120yrds and Rivers threw for over 400yrds so
the offense did their job and the defense did just enough to get the win…
Eagles (M.Vick 23/36
428yrds 2TD, L.McCoy 11car 53yrds, D.Jackson 9rec 193yrds 1TD): This was
the game that was supposed to put the Eagles at 2-0 and firmly a hold of their
division lead. But alas all of the new wave offense that Chip Kelly brought
from Oregon was good enough to score some points but not enough to get the victory
in a home game that should have been a easy win. The Kelly offense has one
major flaw….it keeps the defense on the field too much and until they get solved
they will be a .500 team at best…
Final Score: Chargers
33, Eagles 30
