SP Brett Anderson (Age: 24, 2013 Season: 1-4, 6.21ERA, 29IP, 20ER, 15BB, 29SO):
This is another choice that may have come from the heart instead of cold
hard facts. But the numbers for the most part back it up. Here is the “if” if
he can stay healthy Brett Anderson could easily be a Cy Young candidate year in
and year out. He came out the gates firing on all cylinders winning 11 games in
his rookie campaign. But Anderson hasn’t pitched a full season since and it
looks like the A’s aren’t going to get a full season out of him this year. But I
think the A’s can get him healthy enough to potentially win a Cy Young in his
career but only time will tell with that one. For now he is my #2 pitcher under
25 in MLB Today…
