Eastern Conference
(Round 2)…
(7) Ottawa Senators
(25-17-6, 56pts) vs. (1) Pittsburgh Penguins (36-12-0, 72pts) (1-4): The
Senators came into this series thinking they had a chance against the former
Stanley Cup Champion. The Penguins put that to rest early as they took game
one. They gave a glimmer of hope as the Senators took game 2 before the
Penguins rattled off 3 straight games to advance to the conference finals. This
is huge for young Crosby who is looking for his 2nd Stanley Cup in
his very young career. Keep and eye on the Penguins in this years playoffs…
(6) New York Rangers
(26-18-4, 56pts) vs. (4) Boston Bruins (28-14-6, 62pts) (1-4): Another
series where the lower seeded team came in as the hotter team of the 2 teams in
the series. It was a interesting situation as both teams were coming off os 7
game series and playing very well. This time the higher seeded team (Bruins)
was able to take advantage of home ice and get a couple of early victories
before the Rangers really woke up and the Bruins had control of the series.
Overall and amazing series to watch as the bruins pounded on the Rangers…
