As
the 1st round began the Warriors were the one team that everyone was
kind of looking for to have a good game or two but it just didn’t look like
they matched up well with the Denver Nuggets. Little did they know that there
would be the emergence of a true NBA Superstar! Stephen Curry came in as one of
the NBA’s top point guards and may have leaped himself into that Elite Class
with his performance in this series. Mark Jackson emerged and showed that he
should have been voted coach of the year. Not George Karl!! But now lets take a
look at some pivotal games in this fantastic series between two young up and
coming teams in today’s NBA…
Game #1 – Nuggets go
up 1-0 in a close one: The Nuggets came into this series as a favorite. And
in game one they showed that they were a battle tested team who could come thru
in the clutch. In a 4th quarter that saw a lot of mistakes by a
young Warriors team the Nuggets were able to take advantage and get the last
second shot that gave them the game one win…
Game #2 – Warriors
end Nuggets 24 GM Hm winning streak in grand fashion: The Warriors bounced
back from that game one loss and the loss of their star forward David Lee. By
blowing out the Nuggets in Denver to end their 24 game winning streak at home
this season. This evened up the series at 1 apiece and gave the Warriors the
chance that they needed to surprise the NBA world…
Game #4 – Warriors
take commanding 3-1 lead after sweeping the Nuggets at hm: After taking
game 3 at Oracle the Warriors came in to this game looking to make the Nuggets
realize that they were a team to be reckoned with as the beat them this time in
a close one that saw it go the Warriors way this time as they took a 3-1 lead
in the series as they headed back to Denver for Game 5…
Game #6 – Warriors finish
the Nuggets off in a close one at home: The Warriors knew it was now or
never as they went into Game 6 because if the Nuggets took Game 6 they would
have won 2 straight and have all of the momentum going into Game 7 at home in
Denver. But the Warriors fended off a late push by the Nuggets to close out the
series and advance to face San Antonio in the 2nd Round…
