Double K’s 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs Review: Western Conference…

Western Conference (Round 2)…

(4) Los Angeles Kings (27-16-5, 57pts) vs. (6) San Jose Sharks (25-16-7, 57pts) (Kings win 4-3): This was a amazing series… for the home teams. The Home team won every game in this series from beginning to end. This continued the Kings run to capture their 2nd straight Stanley Cup Finals, and ended the Sharks attempt to get their 1st. Jonathan Quick was the reason that the Kings were able to get thru this series. He stopped the Sharks at every critical time in the series when it was necessary and at times he seemed almost unbeatable and a lock for the Con Smyth trophy. Overall this is looking like it is going to be a rivalry that we are going to be enjoying for years to come. As a fan I love it…

(1) Blackhawks (36-7-5, 77pts) vs. (7) Red Wings (24-16-8, 56pts) (Blackhawks win 4-3): This series saw a comeback like you would never believe as the Red Wings jumped out and to a early 3-1 lead it looked as if the Blackhawks were dead in the water and Detroit was on their way to yet another Western Conference finals. Then the streak began as the Hawks rattled off 3 straight wins including a huge Game 7 that allowed them to face the Kings in the Conference Finals. Which goes to prove the point that no team is truly out of it even if they are down 3-1? So all this set up the matchup of the ages between the best team from last year and the best team from this year…
