Western Conference
(Round 1)…
(8) Minnesota Wild
(26-19-3, 55pts) vs. (1) Chicago Blackhawks (36-7-5, 77pts) (4-1): This
series was dominated by the team that dominated most of the NHL during the
regular season. The Blackhawks have performed at a high level all season long
and can they keep it going in Round 2 against the Detroit Red Wings who knows
how to win but they did dominate them during the 48 game season…
(7) Detroit Red Wings
(24-16-8, 56pts) vs. (2) Anaheim Ducks (30-12-6, 66pts) (4-3): In a series that
everyone saw the Ducks winning in dominating fashion the Red Wings showed exactly
why they have to be taken seriously every time they make it to the post season.
They stayed in it and took it too a Game 7 and was able to sneak away with the
upset 1st round victory over the #2 Seed Anaheim Ducks…
(6)
San Jose Sharks (25-16-7, 57pts) vs. (3) Vancouver Canucks (26-15-7, 59pts) (4-0):
Now
the San José Sharks proved without a shadow of a doubt that if you have a pulse
you need to keep your eye on the Sharks they are making their way thru the
Western Conference and looking to advance into the Conference finals if they
can. But this team may have what it takes to compete for the Stanley Cup…
(5) Los Angeles Kings
(27-16-5, 57pts) vs. (4) St. Louis Blues (29-17-2, 60pts) (4-2): The Kings
look to repeat their magical run from last season this year. And they began
with the blues who came out strong but eventually struggled against a good
Kings team that plays great defense and can score goals in bunches. But do they
have what it takes to get back to the Finals or will their run end at the hands
of instate rival the San Jose Sharks…
