Western Conference
Finals (Round 3)…
(5) Memphis Grizzlies
(56-26, 2nd in Southwst Div., 5th in West. Conf.) vs. (2)
San Antonio Spurs (58-24, Southwst Div. Champs, 2nd in West. Conf.)
(1-4): This was a series that caught everyone by surprise. You wouldn’t think
that would be the case being that the Spurs were the higher seed. But Memphis
had just come off of manhandling the shorthanded Thunder who were the #1 seed.
It looked like the Grizzlies were going to have one of those years and possibly
win their franchises 1st NBA title. Well folks the Spurs put a end
to that game one as they stomped the Grizzlies the 1st 2 games in SA
and managed to take one more in Memphis before sending them home for the
summer. Memphis is already in the process of looking for a new coach while San
Antonio is on their way to compete for their 5 title in franchise history. So
keep an eye out for the Grizzlies in the years to come but the Spurs are in their
time right now!!...
