Double K’s Top 5 2013 NCAA Tourney Upsets (WK1): #4 (14) Harvard Crimson vs. (3) New Mexico Lobos…

#4 (14) Harvard Crimson (20-9)(IVY) vs. (3) New Mexico Lobos (29-6)(MWC) Final Score: 68-62 (1st Round Game): I think this was a upset that no one but the students, faculty and team staff believed was going to happen. The Crimson have been a good team for most of the season and I did believe that this was going to be a tough game for the Lobos. But with the way they tore thru the Mountain West Tournament it looked like the Lobos were going to be making a small run in the NCAA Tournament. But alas that was not to be because the Harvard Crimson had other ideas they slowed the pace and lured the Lobos into playing their game and in doing so primed them for a huge upset. It wasn’t a game dominated by the winning team but the Crimson played smarter basketball than the Lobos and thus advanced to the next round. Too bad they couldn’t get past the Wildcats in the next round but they were a nice 1 round story and my #4 Tourney upset from 2013 March Madness…
