The
49ers had a great run last year they went 11-4-1 and made a postseason run to
the Super Bowl and in a case of the “rich getting richer”. The 49ers let go of
some of the team that they felt was expendable. While at the same time they
replaced some of those players thru free agency and the rest in the draft. The
49ers lost Issac Sopoaga and Dashon Goldson. They also refused to resign Randy
Moss as well as lost Delaine Walker to the Titans. So Jim Harbaugh and the boys
went out and focused on the defense to get better at what slowed them down in
the Super Bowl. That was pass coverage. They went out and signed Glen Dorsey to
replace the lost Sopoaga. They went out and got Craig Dahl after losing Dashon
Goldson to the Buccaneers…..
A.
Glen
Dorsey (KC)- The 49ers signed the former 1st round draft pick of
the Chiefs. The 49ers needed him being they lost their starter from last year. I
think he will pretty much be the starting defensive tackle and will help
solidify the center of the Niners defensive line that should be much better
against the run….
B.
Anquan
Boldin (BAL) – This is yet another example of the 49ers addressing need and
not wasting moves with maybes and almost. But getting guys that help them in
play on the field. Boldin is another weapon for Capernick to throw to and to
utilize in the red zone. They traded only a 6th round pick with big
brother John Harbaugh to get the receiver that they really needed…
C.
Craig
Dahl (STL) – Dahl helps the 49ers in an immediate need area and that is
free safety. Goldson went out and got the money that he has deserved for years but
the 49ers just didn’t have the money to keep him but they signed the veteran
Dahl at a discount price…
D.
Nnamdi
Asoumaugh (PHI) – This was a quietly big move by the 49ers to add some much
needed depth to their defense backfield. Nnamdi has no guaranteed money in his contract.
So he will be playing for pride and bonuses and that chip on his shoulder from
people who say he has lost a step and cant cover any more. Just the kind of
chip that Vic Faggio loves in his backfield…
