So last week the NCAA Tournament kicked off an what a tournament is has been there has been multiple Cinderella stories to tell and lots of teams that showed up only to be bounced like a check and sent home to whine about it all offseason. This is the 1st year in my recent memory that we have a 12 (Oregon) 13 (LeSalle) and…wow…. A 15 (FGCU) are all in the sweet 16 and the parody is off the chains in the 1st 2 rounds. Cant wait till next week to see what else happens. These are the matchups that caught my eye throughout the weekend that was…

Day Two

D.      WST/ #12 Ole Miss beats #5 Wisconsin 57-46: Everyone including me thought that coming out of the BIG10 the Badgers would breeze through the Rebels of Ole Miss. But it wasn’t to be as Ole Miss ran over the Badgers to get the 1st round victory…

All in total 6 top 5 seeds in various brackets fell in the 1st round. (Once again something that I cannot remember happening in the tournament in recent years.) They said that this year’s field was a close from top to bottom more than any in recent memory. Now on to the rest of the weekend…

Day Three

B.      #9 Wichita State beats #1 Gonzaga 76-70: the #9 seed Witchita beating the Bulldogs was not as big of an upset as you would think. Because if you look at how the 2 teams have been playing all season the Shockers have been the better team. So they advance…

Now with all this excitement surrounding this years March Madness tournament I think I will be sitting down to watch almost every game that is played from here on out because if this pattern stays true to form we might just see Florida Gulf Coast become the next Butler or Gonzaga and blast themselves onto the map getting into the Final Four or a Nat. Title Game. Check in next week and see….
