Double K’s 2013 NFL Combine Players to watch for…

2013 NFL Combine Players to watch for: University of California RB C.J. Anderson

(5’8”, 224lbs, 4.60 40, 9’11” broad jump, Compared to: Frank Gore): A explosive player at the running back position. Anderson will look to make his mark in the situational role on most teams. But being a small back with powerful legs he reminds me a lot of Frank Gore the 49ers current back. At 5’8” and bout 225lbs he will be a bowling ball and a pleasure to watch for some team that need a backup running back and someone who will be the “Change of Pace” back and be the speedster that surprises tired defenses late in games. He only put up 1200 yards in his 2 years as a starter at CAL scoring a total of 12 TD’s but in that short time he performed consistently and was a great locker room presence.  A good addition to any NFL team that takes him…

On the Raiders…: Once again as a factor back I could see him be a great “Change of Pace” back to the incumbent starter Darren McFadden. But as for the reality of the Raiders drafting him it is very doubtful, there is no reason for the Raiders (via their depth chart) don’t have a desperate need for a back at the point where they could draft him. So at this point he is just a shiny piece of metal that will never be picked up by Reggie McKenzie…

On the 49ers…: Once again another situation where this team is very deep at this position like several teams in the NFL. So the best case scenario is that he would sit until Frank Gore retired and became the next Frank Gore in a 49ers system that could use a little bit of size to add to all that speed that they have at the Running Back position. So I don’t really see him fitting into one of those 13 draft picks that the 49ers have on April 25th. But he will fit in somewhere maybe late 2nd round? Who knows?...

Projected Round taken:  Late 2nd Round – 4th Round…
