2013 NFL Combine
Player to watch for: University of Oregon LB/DE Dion Jordan
(6’6”, 248lbs, 4.60
40, 10’02” Broad Jump, Compared to: Julian Peterson): Now at 6’6” this kid
is the true definition of a beast. With 4.6 speed he can catch most running
backs and Tight ends in the NFL. But as a a pass rusher is where he will excel.
With that kind of speed as a outside pass rusher. He can get to the QB in the
blink of an eye and that is what will get him drafted early on. Some say he can
have the impact of a Aldon Smith if he is put in the right system and used
correctly…
On the Raiders…: I
have said that for many years the Raiders are not that far behind the 49ers as
far as being capable of being competitive in their division and conference. A
draft pick like this if he is available at the top of the 2nd round
could lift the Raiders defense to new heights with the linebacking core that
they have signed during this free agency period. This would give them the ability to use him
similar to aldon as a situational LB then allow him to grow into the team
leader that he can be under the tutelage of some great veteran backers…
On the 49ers…: If
the 49ers were able to draft this kid late in the 1st round this
would be a case of the rich getting richer. Adding Jordan to the LB core that
the 49ers already have and this would make them extremely dangerous as a
defense and a team to be feared in so many ways. Could you imagine that Justin
and Aldon Smith, Willis and Bowman, Dorsey and Jordan all blitzing the QB. No
ones getting out alaive on that one. But like I said very unlikely to happen
but if it does the NFC will need to watch out…
Projected Round
