Double K’s 2013 NFL Combine Players to Watch for…

2013 NFL Combine Player to watch for: Mississippi St CB Darius Slay

(6’0”, 192lbs, 4.36 40, 10’04” Broad Jump, Compared to:???): Now this kid may have flown under the radar for most of his career. But he definitely made a stamp on the NFL universe during this years combine. He ran the second best 40 time in the entire combine. And he was said to have great hands. Some of the tape that I watched on you tube of him show that he has a mind for football. But he is still a little raw. So whoever takes him will need to be able to help him develop into the All-Pro corner that he could be. In the meantime he could be a excellent choice for both punt and kick returning…

On the Raiders…: On the Raiders I don’t think that this kid would be a good fit. Unless the Raiders went out and signed a veteran Corner to mentor this kid he has a lot of potential but like I said is way to raw to be thrown into the fire they way that he would be in Oakland. Now if they were to do that (Go out and sign a vet corner) then yes they would get a good corner in about 2-3 years and possibly a lockdown corner in the future…

On the 49ers…: Now as I described earlier I think that a place like San Francisco would be perfect for this kid. Even if the 49ers don’t sign another veteran corner in free agency this is still a good fit he can sit back behind Culliver and Brock and learn the defense and learn where he fits in and maybe become an impact player down the road for the 49ers defense. But if they do sign the corner then this kid would be in the perfect place for him to grow and become a All Pro corner in this league…
