2013 Oakland
Athletics
Pitching (SP: B-, RP:
A-, #1 SP: B.Anderson, CLSR: R.Cook): This year the Athletics return a young
but still unproven young staff. Yes they did take them to a AL West title last
year. When no one saw them coming, but the question remaining is this can they
stand up to the pressure when the entire league knows they are here…
Offense (SL: A, BNCH:
A): The offense looks to be right on
track they are returning pretty much every one from last season and even added
a couple of new faces to the mix. Catcher Jaso and Shortstop Nakajima the A’s
look to their second year players to lead this team…
Defense (C: B, INF:
A-, OF: A): The defense was upgraded with the 2 pickups I mentioned plus
the addition of jed Lawrie recently make the athletics a pretty scary infield to
face. The Outfield will be a solid rotation of 4 very capable fielders for Bob
Melvin to rotate…
Season Outlook: The
Athletics look to have a solid chance to be competitive for repeating as the AL
West champs. They bring back all of their young starters and anchor that shaft
with Anderson who is a home grown product who will lead these young guns into
the future. The bullpen is just as young as the starters and can be just as
effective over the long run. The hitters are all skilled at the plate andin the
field so the Athletics will be able to put up some numbers expect them to be in
the top 15 of MLB in the offensive and defensive categories in 2013. The sky is
the limit for a young team with a great Manager to lead them…
