Double K’s Top 5 Sports Landmarks in the Bay Area: #3 Oracle Arena…




Oracle Arena, Oakland, CA… Golden State Warriors: Opened in 1966 the Oracle Arena has been a staple in the Bay Area. The perpetual home of the Golden State Warriors after their move from San Francisco (coincidently they are moving back to San Fran. in 2017). It saw many good years and bad it saw one of the Warriors 3 championships and their most recent (1975). The Arena was the home of the California Golden Bears for a couple of seasons in the late 90’s (1997-99). I know I have seen many Harlem Globetrotter games there and a couple of concerts. To me this is a very special place in Bay Area history and many families have seen WWE events at that arena. And because of that the Oracle Arena in Oakland, CA is my #3 Sports Landmark in the Bay Area…
