Stanford Stadium, Palo Alto, CA… University of Stanford Cardinal: Built in the early 1920’s to compete with the University of California building Memorial Stadium, the Stanford Cardinal played in the 90+ thousand seat Stanford Stadium. This stadium hosted many important events such as 1928 Republican Nomination ceremony for Herbert Hoover, and the 1985 Super Bowl between the 49ers and Dolphins and is still the only Super Bowl to be won by a team from the same region as that Super Bowl site. The stadium hosted many series of international futbol matches throughout the 90’s. But in 2005 they demolished the old stadium and built the current 50+ thousand seat stadium that houses a team that was built by 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh and is being continued on by current Head Coach David Shaw. For many years before and for many to come this is going to the home of a good team and a icon in college sports and the Bay Area…
