Bartolo Colon (2012, Suspended 50 Games for PED use): In the middle of what
was a magical season the Oakland Athletics received bad news. The elder and
anchor of the Athletics pitching staff Bartolo Colon had tested positive for a
banned substance and would be suspended by MLB. This was not only shocking but
very impactful to the Athletics lineup. He was pretty much the main veteran
that led this rookie laden staff to the playoffs by showing poise on so many
occasions (including beating the Yankees and CC Sabathia in New York). But
despite all of that he served his suspension and will return to the Athletics
to prove that his numbers were not a
product of his PED use. But I will tell you that this one was the biggest
surprises to me during the 2012 Baseball season. But for now he is my #5 PED
User in sports today…
