#5 San Francisco
Giants GM Brian Sabean (1996-current (17yrs), WS: 2 (10’, 12’), EOY: 1 (03’),
REC: 1395-1198): As the longest tenured GM in Giants franchise history
Brian Sabean made himself into a Bay Area legend by doing something that no
other GM has been able to do in San Francisco and that was put together a team
that actually won a championship. His predecessor Bob Quinn managed to put
together a team that got there (95’) but unfortunately lost to their cross town
rivals the Oakland Athletics. But the biggest thing that he has brought to the
table is the fact that the Giants have been consistent winners in his reign.
Short of a 3 year stretch they never finished worse than 2nd in
their division making him not only a Bay Area Sports Icon but it makes him one
of the best GM’s in the game of baseball…
