2012-13 Oakland
Raiders (4-12, Finished 3rd in AFC West)
Offense (8th
in the NFL, Passing: 4084yrds 24TD’s 16INT’s, 28th in the NFL,
Rushing: 1420yrds 4TD’s 4FUM): The Raiders on offense were somewhat of an
enigma this season. Some positives were the fact that Carson Palmer threw for
almost 4000 yards and threw for almost 20 TD’s. During the last week of the
season the Raiders got to find out that they have 2 effective QB’s on their roster
with backup Tyrell Pryor. On the ground the Raiders had a lot of hope going
into this season a health McFadden and Recce the Raiders looked like this
should have been a strong point but it ended up not servicing them well as the
offense couldn't sustain a drive to let the defense rest. But next year the thing to watch is going to
be the QB battle as the Raiders decide which direction they want to go in on
offense…
Defense (20th
in the NFL, Passing: 3775yrds 28TD’s 11INT’s, 18th in the NFL,
Rushing: 1897yrds 18TD’s 3FUM): The defense on the other hand looked
abysmal for most of the season. They gave up a total of 46 TD’s and could only
for like 12-13 TO’s these numbers aren't going to result in wins in any league.
So lets focus on next year they need to improve in all levels. Defensive Line
help maybe Dwight Freeney or someone like that. At Linebacker the Raiders are
doing good but could benefit from a little depth maybe in the draft. At corner-back its going to be a little tougher its going to need to be filled by
both free agents and young players. If the Raiders can improve they have the
roster to compete for an AFC West title…
