Divisional Round
10:00 AM PST Georgia
Dome, Atlanta, GA (Falcons 30, Seahawks 28, Falcons advance to 3rd
Conference Championship game in franchise history.): The Falcons came into
this game needing a win. They were 0-3 in previous trips to the playoffs. And were
looking to get the proverbial monkey off their back. The Seahawks came in as
one of the hottest teams in the league having just ran all over the 49ers just
weeks before and a big comeback victory over the Redskins the previous week.
The Falcons came out hot and shutout the Seahawks during the 1st
half of the game. The Seahawks came out and made the necessary adjustments in
the 2nd half to put points up on the board and even took a late
lead. But they left too much time on the clock and the Falcons took advantage
of their 2 remaining timeouts to get into position and kick the game winning FG
to advance to the NFC championship game…
1:30 PM PST Gillette
Stadium, Foxborough, MA (Patriots 41, Texans 28, The Patriots continue to roll
on as they stomp the Texans for the 2nd time this year.): The
Patriots came into the game looking to get back to defend their AFC
Championship Title at home. They cam out and abused the Texans defense in dare I
say new ways as the Texans looked like children on the field. Tom Brady looked
like Joe Montana out there as he passed Joe Montana on the all time list for
most playoff victories. He went on a roll so that the Patriots could just abuse
a team for the 2nd time this season. The Patriots put up a total of
86 points to the Texans 31 (28 in this game). But the Texans thought something
different they thought they were going to just compete and try to pull it out
in the end. But the Patriots had a different idea they came out and took
control of the game and ran away with it…
