Double K’s Top 5 Hockey teams to watch in 2013: #4 New Jersey Devils…

#4 New Jersey Devils (48-28-2, 102pts, 4th Atlantic Division, 6th Eastern Conference)

Reason’s to Watch: The Devils came into last season’s playoffs as the number 6 seed. They then proceeded to march their way through the playoffs. 1st up were the Panthers who fought hard but went down in 7 games. Then there was the Flyers who looked to end the run but the Devils just ran them by 4-1. In the Conference Championship it was the top seeded Rangers versus the cross town rival Devils. It took 6 games but the Devils earned their birth in the Stanley Cup Finals. Unfortunately for the Devils they ran into the buzz saw that was the Los Angeles Kings. Now as for this season the Devils look to build on that run from last season returning most of the same cast of characters from last season so look for them to be in the playoff hunt and to even be competing for a Stanley Cup. This is going to be an interesting season even though it will only be 48 games….
