Double K’s 2012-13 NFL Awards: NFL Offensive Player of the Year…

Well as I sat down to figure this one out I had to do a lot of reading. I was going to give it to Adrian Peterson (Vikings) he did rush for over 2000 yards which hasn’t been done since the early years of this century.  Even though Drew Brees (Saints) and Matt Stafford (Lions) and Tony Romo (Cowboys) all threw for more than 4500 yards.  In a season when multiple receivers went for over 1400 yards this guy set the NFL benchmark. And to many he is known simply as Megatron (transformers: leader of the Decepticons). Because the man seems to rack up yards and score touchdowns like a machine. For that he is Double K’s NFL Offensive Player of the Year…

2012-13 NFL’s Offensive Player of the Year (Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson): This season was a fantasy dream for most. Because most that owned him smiled and most that played against him dreaded it. Calvin but up big numbers week in and week out. But his overall consistency couldn’t get the Lions beyond a 4-12 record.  It still doesn’t mean that his feat is any less awesome he broke a record that had stood since 1985. That is almost 30 years and now we have a new all time leader and at this pace he will catch Jerry for the All-Time mark in yards and possibly TD’s as well…
