This one is for the boys on defense and there were a lot of
good ones this year. In the NFC Aldon Smith (49ers) and Morris Claiborne
(Cowboys) have been stout defensive players. In the AFC you had Vince Wilfork
(Pats), Aquib Talib (Pats) and Ray Lewis (Ravens) who all had great years this
season. But there has only been one man who has dominated the defensive side of
the football, Only one man who has a nickname like JJ Swat. The man has been a
disruptive force in the AFC all season long and QB’s are learning to fear the
man. As well they should he can rush ya, sack ya and if you are lucky enough to
get a pass off he will put those big paws up in the air and just swat the ball
down. WOW what else can I say about me defensive player of the year…JJ Watt.
2012-13 NFL’s
Defensive Player of the Year (Houston Texans DL J.J.Watt): Now as a college
player Watt terrorized quarterbacks in the Big 10 as a 6’5” defensive lineman at
the University of Wisconsin. And after being drafted by the Texans 11th
in the 2011 draft he has been an impact player from day 1. But in just his
second season Watt has seemed to turn a corner and that is hard to say after
coming off the stellar rookie season. You wouldn’t think that he would improve
that much over one offseason but he went from being a candidate for Defensive
Rookie of the Year to the outright Defensive Player of the Year. That is a huge
step in a players career let’s hope he can keep climbing and if he dose this isn’t
the last time I will be giving this award to JJ Watt of the Houston Texans….
