Week #13 Preview: Oakland Raiders (3-8) vs. Cleveland Browns (3-8)…

Now this is a game that I think the Raiders could win. The Browns defense has played well over the past couple of weeks. But I am still left thinking that this would be the perfect week for the Raiders to snap out of their funk and get a win. Start something special, go on a roll, or whatever other ra-ra phrase you want to use. Bottom line is the playoffs are pretty much out of the question,  The season is m=not completely lost if the Raiders can salvage some wins against the teams that they are supposed to beat. The Browns are the perfect cure for that ailment. They have struggled on offense even though rookie RB Richardson is having a good season. But Weeden has yet to really come alive. But its all in rookie growing pains…

Game #12 – Oakland Raiders at Cleveland Browns

Offense: OAK B/CLE B-: The Raiders have an edge at the key position and that’s at the QB position. Palmer has a lot more experience and a lot more weapons around him than the not so young rookie Weeden. Reece and Richardson are two different backs that bring two different styles to the field. Richardson is a downhill power runner, Reece is more of a cutter speed back. These two contrasting styles should be interesting to watch as I expect both backs to have big days. As for the receiving core I think the Raiders have the edge there and the Browns will have difficulty stopping the Raiders offense….

Defense: OAK C-/CLE B-: The Raiders defense has been hurt and has been playing horribly as players are being made to play out of position to compensate for injuries. But none the less they should have a little bit easier time against this very young offense. The Browns bring a lot of potential to the table but not a lot of execution. Weeden is still learning the ropes and Richardson is a threat but not enough that the Raiders cant win this game and in convincing fashion. But the Raiders defense has been suspect at certain times this season, playing down to their opponents skill level has become a way of life. Lets hope that they can get it together in Cleveland before the Raiders began competing for the #1 pick in the 2013 NFL draft…

Final Score: Raiders 21, Browns 17
