Position: Point Guard
Starter: Damien
Lillard (18.4ppg, 3.2rpg, 6.4apg)
Backup(s): Ronnie
Price (2.8ppg, 1.4rpg, 1.9apg), Nolan Smith (2.6ppg, 0.4rpg, 1.1apg)
Synopsis: The
bottom line is this… The Blazers live and die by Lillard at the point guard
position. He has been amazing for a rookie point guard. He’s averaging 18
points a game and 6 assist. Those aren’t exactly elite numbers but they show
that in picking Lillard they are establishing that they are preparing for the
future. By letting him start they are saying that the future is now. The
backups that they have behind him are youthful (Only Price has more than 1 yr
under his belt). Price has an upside as a veteran backup to teach these young
kids how to play the game with class. On the other side both Smith and Lillard have
tremendous upside and can be huge cogs to a playoff run in future years. For
now the Blazers have a leader in the years to come in Damien Lillard they will
have a star…
