The 49ers came into this game unsure about who the starter
was until game day. This was a small advantage because the defense didn’t know
who to prepare for as the week went on. But not anything that was going to
result in anything huge. The thing that was impressive about this game was the
fact that Colin Kapernick once again proved why he deserved to start amassing 2
TD’s (one in the air ,one on the ground). So will he start for the 49ers for
the rest of the season?... Maybe or Maybe not only time will tell. But for now let’s
keep this gravy train going and win some games. If Atlanta falters and we have
the opportunity to take the 1 seed away from them then the 49ers need a hot
hand at QB and as Alex’s becomes Luke warm Kapernick seems to be red hot. And
as Harbaugh has said many times “We have two hot hands…TWO good guys!!”…
Game #11 – San
Francisco 49ers at New Orleans Saints
Offense: B+ (C.Kapernick
16/25 231yrds 1TD 1INT, F.Gore 19/ 83yrds, D.Walker 3/81yrds): The 49ers
offense was hitting on all cylinders on Sunday. Kapernick again showed how
dynamic he can be and also how well he knows the offense. In only 2 starts this
season he has a QB Rating of 104.0 that is impressive and he has the highest
QBR (stat kept by ESPN to explain a QB’s importance to each play) for the 1st
2 games of a career since Aaron Rodgers. Gore had a complete game even though he
didn’t reach the endzone on the ground(He did it in the air 1TD). And Kapernick
seemed to have a ver good connection with Walker the back up tight end as he
only targeted Davis once after targeting him 8 times in the last game. But
overall a great day for the 49ers offense…
Defense: A (Passing
Yrds All. 231yrds, Rushing Yrds All. 144yrds 2TO): The reason that the
49ers won this game was the defense. Now I say that because we can directly
coralate on the scoreboard. How you may say well if you take away the 2 49ers
pick 6’s then the 49ers offense only put up 17 points and that would have been
4 short of what was needed to win the game. But outside of that the defense
played very well. Aldon Smith took the lead in sacks for the season and I think
he is going to be hard to catch. He may be the 1st 49er defender
with over 20 sacks in a season. But only time will tell but I know this much on
draft day I wondered why they drafted him. Now I wonder no more this kid is a
beast….Period.
Final Score: 49ers 31,
Saints 21
Overall: A-
