Week 11 Review: New Orleans Saints (5-5) vs. Oakland Raiders (3-7)…

This si a game that on paper looked winnable for the Raiders. The Saints came in as a team in turmoil. Head Coach… Suspended and replaced. They got back all of the players that were suspended. But they didn't look like the same team early, But they have hit their stride recently winning 4 of their last 5 games. The Raiders came in after some very up and down weeks. Losses to Baltimore and Tampa Bay left the win over the Chiefs seeming so far away. The Raiders had a chance to turn around their fortunes and take over the Saints and get a win. But they didn't do any of that all they did was fall flat on their faces and were out of the game before the game really got going. But oh well looks like they are going to have to wait for next week and hope they can get the ball rolling against the Bengals….

Game #10 – New Orleans Saints at Oakland Raiders

Offense:  B-(C.Palmer 22/40 312yrds 2TD, 2INT, M.Reece 19/103yrds, B.Myers 6/55yrds 1TD): The Raiders numbers on offense look nice enough in the stat sheet. But what the sheet doesn't tell you is the lack of points it produced that’s the scoreboards job and as the Raiders struggled to get points on that scoreboard. The Saints just lit it up and overall they didn’t put up a lot of yards that’s the kicker. The Raiders just couldn’t put it into the end zone when given the opportunity. But on the bright side Marcel Reece the young back for the Raiders did go for 100+ yards but couldn’t even get into the end zone himself. We will be looking for better next week against the Bengals…

Defense: D+ (Passing Yrds All. 229yrds, Rushing Yrds All. 160yrds, 0TO): The defense pretty much collapsed under the weight of the Saints awesomeness. I hate to steal that phrase but the fact of the matter is the Saints offense came in and had its way with the Raiders defense with Drew Brees having a flashback game and throwing for 3TD’s and being very efficient about it. If the Raiders are going to turn this thing around they need their defense to play a lot better than they played in this game. They cant keep allowing teams to just run all over them and pass all over them. The Raiders are better than that and I believe Dennis Allen can turn it around and finish this season strong even if they don’t make the playoffs…

Final Score: Saints 38, Raiders 17

Overall: C-
