2012-13 Sacramento Kings: Position by Position Breakdown…

Position: Small Forward

Starter: James Johnson (3.5ppg, 4.5rpg, 0.0bpg)

Backup(s): Travis Outlaw (2.0ppg,1.0apg), John Salmons (7.5ppg, 2.9rpg, 2.0apg), Tyler
Honeycutt (1.3ppg, 0.9rpg, 0.5apg)

Synopsis:  Now the small forward position is one that the Kings are not very deep at. I say that knowing that they have 2 players (Outlaw and Salmons) who are veterans that can spot start for the Power Forward that the Kings are starting at the 3 spot. James Johnson I don’t know much about this kid but at 6’9” he would be a little undersized to play the Power Forward position. So I can see what they are looking to do but the question is can this 2nd year player hang with the likes of Kevin Durant and Andre Igodala. We will have to wait and see. As for the backups they have enough bodies at this position but that may not be enough to get the 20-30 ppg that they need out of the SF position. But the kid Johnson has promise we will have to keep a close eye on this experiment…
