2012-13 Sacramento Kings: Position by Position Breakdown…

Position: Shooting Guard

Starter: Tyreke Evans (13.5ppg, 7.5rpg, 3.5apg)

Backup(s): Marcus Thorton (15.0ppg, 2.0rpg, 2.0apg), Francisco Garcia (2.5ppg, 1.0rpg)

Synopsis: In my personal opinion this is the 2nd strongest are of the team ( with the PF/C being tied for 1st). Starting with Tyreke Evans as you starting 2 guard this was a smart move by a smart man (Keith Smart). Evans is a beast at the 2 and will give most of the 2 guards in the NBA fits on both sides of the court regardless of his small size. He is very quick and his ability to fill in at the small forward position will prove very valuable for the Kings this season. The backups (Thorton and Garcia) would be starting on most other NBA teams… Well maybe not but on a few they would. Thorton is going to make an excellent sixth man off the bench giving the Kings 15+ ppg off the bench giving them depth at this position. Garcia is a good defender who can spot start for the Kings and also eat up valuable minuets in blowouts and late in games. Keep an eye out for this trio they are dangerous….
