2012-13 Phoenix Suns: Position by Position Breakdown…

Position: Small Forward

Starter: Michael Beasley (13.3ppg, 5.3rpg, 2.3apg)

Backup(s): Wesley Johnson (1.3ppg, 1.5rpg, 0.3apg), PJ Tucker (4.1ppg, 2.9rpg, 0.9apg)

Synopsis: The small forward position was definitely upgraded by the Suns in the off season. Adding Mike Beasley was huge in the offseason. It solidified this forward position with a true scorer who is young and still has a lot of room to grow. He was 1st thought to be a big piece of turning the Heat around when he was drafted. With the addition of James and Bosh the Heat decided to go in a different direction with the team. Unfortunately those plans didn’t include Beasley and now he is a Phoenix Sun. Johnson on the other hand has the potential to be a great 6th man off the bench a good scorer with great defensive potential.  Don’t know much about Tucker so the jury is still out on him, But from what I have heard there is soothing to watch out for with him…
