2012-13 Phoenix Suns: Position by Position Breakdown…

Position: Shooting Guard

Starter: Jared Dudley (9.1ppg, 2.6rpg, 1.9apg)

Backup(s): Shannon Brown (14.4ppg, 2.3rpg, 2.0apg)

Synopsis:  The Suns have a lot of guards on the team but not a lot of Shooting Guards. They only have 2 but the 2 that they have can make an impact. Lets look at Jared Dudley he is a player that can play multiple positions. Small Forward and Shooting Guard even some Point Guard. So Dudley becomes extremely valuable because of his ability to play defense at all of those positions.  That’s what makes him a very valuable piece to the Suns puzzle of a playoff run. With Shannon Brown being a primary backup he is going to be in line as the 6th man of the year. He can come in and give the Suns valuable minuets and points off the bench. Will this combo be able to get it done in the long run….We will see but for now the Suns are pretty set at the Guard position for many years to come…
