Position: Point Guard
Starter: Darius
Morris (5.6ppg, 1.7rpg, 2.6apg)
Backup(s):Chris Duhon
(1.6ppg, 1.0rpg, 1.8apg), Steve Blake (5.1ppg, 2.4rpg, 3.4apg), Steve Nash (4.5ppg,
3.0rpg, 4.0apg)
Synopsis: Now I know
that this lineup looks funny. The fact of the matter is that the general of
this offense will be Steve Nash. As soon as he is healthy and can get back on
the court. But for now the starter is second year guard Darius Morris and he
will be serviceable while they wait for Nash to heal. You throw in Duhon and long time Lakers guard
Blake and you have a nice little “guard by committee” situation. But the
ultimate goal is to get Nash back as the general of this offense that he knows
so well. This will be the 1st time in the career of Nash that he has
had this much talent at his disposal. You can find Suns teams that had similar
talent but none that are as stacked at every position as this Lakers team is. I
think he will fly higher than he has in years and the Lakers may be challenging
the Heat for a title sooner than later. So expect the Lakers to struggle early
in the new coaches system. But as the
season progresses the Lakers will get better and watch out during the late and
post season because they will be a force in the playoffs,,,
