Week 8 Preview: Arizona Cardinals (4-3) vs San Francisco 49ers (5-2)…

This week in the review center we look at the San Francisco 49ers as they line up to face division rival and up and coming Arizona Cardinals. This is game #2 in a stretch of 3 straight division games that could make or break the 49ers season. As far as the division crown goes that is. The Cardinals are looking to avoid losing 4 in a row after a 4-0 start. The 49ers are looking to win their 2nd game since the debacle against the Giants in Candlestick. Going into the bye week the 49ers want to go in hot and off of a win…

Game #8 – Arizona Cardinals at San Francisco 49ers

Offense: ARI B/SF B: The question on offense is can Alex Smith get back on track. Until the past 3 games Alex Smith looked like he was on his way to a “elite” status in the NFL. He hit a couple of bumps along the way. Frank Gore will still be the key to any success for the Niners offense if he doesn’t produce on the ground the 49ers are going to struggle. But I think that the offensive line will protect Frank well enough for him to get his yards and the 49ers will dominate this side of the ball about as well as they do the other….

Defense: ARI A-/SF A: In the defense area the 49ers and the Cardinals are both playing at a high level. The Cardinals have marquee wins over the Patriots and Eagles but have pretty much fell flat on their face in the following 3 weeks leaving the team in a free fall. On the flip side the 49ers defense has seemed to get better week to week and seems to learn from their mistakes after a loss. So I see that the defense will again make strides and will dominate a depleted Cardinals offense as the 49ers offense takes off early in the game…

Special Teams: ARI B/ SF B+: The 49ers special teams were pretty good last week and look to continue it on this week. Ted Ginn has been great in recent weeks as the 49ers hope to keep him healthy for another week. The kicking game is still as strong as ever as they still have Akers and Lee possibly the 2nd or 3rd best kicking squad in the NFL…

Final Score: 49ers 28, Cardinals 17
