The 49ers are coming off of their worst loss of the season
to the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants. They were dominated on
both sides of the ball. Both the defensive and offensive lines were pushed
around like children. So that brings us to the next match-up and lets just say
the road isn't getting any easier for the 49ers. Next up is division opponent
and one of 2 2012-13 surprise teams in the NFC West. The Seahawks have always
been a tough match-up for the 49ers no matter where they play. But I have a
feeling this game the 49ers are extra motivated to bounce back after the
drubbing they took last week. Now let’s get to the grades…
Game #7 – Seattle Seahawks
at San Francisco 49ers
Offense: SEA: A-/SF:
B : I have to 1st say this if anything is going to happen for
the 49ers offense in this game it is going to have to start with the running
game. Frank Gore and the boys have to take control of this game by pounding the
rock effectively against a very good Seattle defense. As for Alex I don’t think
we will see too many repeats of his performance from the last game. Im sure
that Harbaugh will have Alex motivated to not let a game like that effect him
too much. So look for a more cautious approach to the game and a much better
performance from his this week…
Defense: SEA: A/SF:
A-: The defense played hard and fell short of being able to slow down the
Giants offense. And they learned a valuable lesson in the process that they are
not perfect and they have some holes that were exposed by a very good offensive
team. But that is a good and bad thing the good part about it is that Jim and
they boys on that staff is good enough to make some adjustments and play better
this week. They face a match-up that is tough but not nearly as good as that
team in New York. They will test the 49ers to see if they will blossom or wilt
under the pressure of playing after the worst possible game they have played in
the Harbaugh era…
Special Teams: SEA:
B/SF: B+ : The Special Teams are the one area where the 49ers are playing
well this season. They had a hiccup last week with 2 missed FG’s by usually ace
kicker David Akers. But outside of that the 49ers Special Teams have performed
well and I don’t see that trend reversing anytime soon. Expect the 49ers to
have good field position for most of the game this should result in the 49ers
being able to effectively play offense. But only time will tell. Till then…Class
is Dismissed…
Final Score: 49ers
28, Seahawks 24
