Week 4 Preview: San Francisco 49ers (2-1) vs New York Jets (2-1)…

Hello students another week of the NFL has passed and we are back in preview mode again. Today we are going to talk about this Sunday’s game in New York City or New Jersey? Im not sure which one, but regardless the San Francisco 49ers and New York Jets. Or should I say the Frisco defense against the Tim Tebow machine. This game shouldn’t be much of a challenge for the 49ers especially with the Jets loss of Darrell Revis their defensive specialist for the season. Lets get to the grades…

Game #4 – San Francisco 49ers at New York Jets

Offense: SF: B-/NYJ: B-:  The 49ers struggled last week against the Viking defense and the Jets have a similar front 7. But I do believe that the offensive line of the 49ers will learn from last weeks mistakes and be able to give QB Alex Smith the time he needs to take advantage of the Jets cornerbacks that will be missing their shutdown corner Darell Revis. Crabtree, Moss and Manningham should be able to frustrate the Jets defensive backs all game. The Jets on the other hand have struggled this season to find their identity. They put up 48 points on the Bills opening weekend and  have only mustered up 33 points going 1-1 the next two weeks. They have yet to find star QB Tim Tebow’s place on the team running him in everything from Special Teams to a wide out. So we will see what the circus that is the Jets has to bring on Sunday…

Defense: SF: A-/NYJ: B:  The jets defense is good don’t get me wrong they are good even without Revis. But here is the thing Revis was good enough to shutdown an entire side of the field most games and that is just not replaceable. So look for the Jets defense to struggle to find its new identity while its leader is sidelined for the rest of the year. Also look for Harbaugh to take advantage of that in his play calling. As for the 49ers defense the loss of Sopoaga (if he doesn’t play) might be huge as the 49ers will have to lean more on Justin Smith and Ray McDonald to fill in at the Tackle spot. Patrick Willis will play and as long as the general is on the field with his #1 man Bowman the 49ers have an opportunity to win the game. Also look for Faggio to have some answers for those Tebow packages…

Special Teams: SF: B-/NYJ: C+: The Special teams unit of the 49ers hasent exactly been to awesome this year but the haven’t been bad. I think that they will have a good day as Akers will be used in this game a couple of times. Now Andy Lee just needs to keep doing what he has been doing and that is putting people deep in their own territory and let the defense eat them for lunch….

Final Score: 49ers 27, Jets 20
