Week 3 Review: Pittsburgh Steelers (1-2) vs Oakland Raiders (1-2)…

Welcome students for Raiders fans this past Sunday was a joyous day for Raiders fans nation and worldwide. The Raiders got their 1st win of the season and did it in dramatic fashion over a bitter rival at home. All the pieces of the puzzle came together late for the Raiders in a game that they allowed Big Ben Roethlisberger to throw for 4 TD’s. The Raiders went into the 4th Quarter down 10 points and managed to stop the Steelers offense and get their own going at the same time. If the Raiders can continue to play like this on offense its going to be a good season….

Game #3 – Pittsburgh Steelers at Oakland Raiders

Offense: B+ (C.Palmer 24/34 209yrds 3TD 1INT, D.McFadden 18/113yrds 1TD, D.Moore 5/45yrds 1TD): The Oakland Raiders offense came alive in the 2nd half of this game. Carson Palmer showed the ability to make good decisions in this offense and had the passing lanes opened up by D-Mac. McFadden had a great game and allowed the Raiders to take control of the game at the line of scrimmage. The Steelers on the other hand had a great game in the air but couldn’t get their running game going for anything. So at the end of the day even Big Ben’s 4TD passes weren’t enough to count out the Raiders…

Defense: C- (Passing Yrds All.: 384yrds, Rushing Yrds All.: 54yrds, 2TO): The Raiders defensive secondary was embarrassed and that is saying something considering that the Raiders won the game. On a positive note they held the Steelers hapless running game to only 54 yards. So the front 7 is doing great did all game on Sunday. But the secondary leaves a lot to be desired, if they can shore up the secondary the Raiders defense will be a force to be reckoned with. The Steelers on the other hand played well in the game with an exception for the 4th quarter, They couldn’t contain McFadden early but couldn’t stop a paper bag in the final quarter. The Raiders defense now needs to keep the momentum going…

Special Teams:  B- (Punt Return Yrds: 1/5yrds, Kick Return Yrds: 2/87yrds): The Special Teams in this game did a decent job. But they weren’t exactly spectacular only amassing 92 total return yards. But despite their deficiencies in the Kick and Punt Returning. The reason for the high grade is Sabastian Janokowski the kicker that put it all together. His game winning FG in the 4th quarter almost got the team an A grade in this game…

Final Score: Raiders 34, Steelers 31

Overall: B
