Week 3 Preview: San Francisco 49ers (2-0) vs Minnesota Vikings (1-1)…

Welcome back students. Today we are going to discuss a home coming of sorts. A homecoming for new 49ers wide out Randy Moss. He will be returning to the Metrodome for the 1st time since playing for the Vikings for 5 games 2 years ago. Also for the 1st time as an opponent. This should be a good game but it depends on which Vikings team shows up. Because during the preseason game they played against each other the 49ers 1st teams on Offense and Defense crushed the Vikings 1st team units. So now on to the game…

Game #3 – San Francisco 49ers at Minnesota Vikings

Offense: SF: A/MIN: B- :  The 49ers offense has looked sharp again to begin this season. Having committed no turnovers and Alex Smith on a streak of 200+ throws without an interception. The Offense is being cautious and smart with the ball, which is all we can ask of them. Frank Gore has been pretty consistent but the 49ers still need Jacobs back to complete the package and truly dominate. Now the Vikings on the other hand have had offensive struggles in both games that have been played this season and don’t look to have the troubles end against the best defense in the NFL…

Defense: SF: A/MIN: C+ : Once again this is an are where the 49ers are better than most teams in the NFL. The 49ers are going to be feeding a young QB in Christian Ponder to their strong front 7. The past 2 weeks it has been a couple of the Elite QB in the league (Rodgers, Stafford) and they performed very well. So this should be a walk in the park for the defense. Now as for the Vikings defense they will most likely struggle with the 49ers offense and the many weapons that Jim Harbaugh has at his disposal…

Special Teams: SF: B+/MIN: C+ : Without the return specialist Ted Ginn Jr on the field the 49ers will not have the clear advantage on special teams but they will still have the advantage on game day. So look for Kyle Williams and company to have a pretty productive day. The Vikings special teams will struggle against the 49ers like most other teams do. And it will result in good field position all day for the 49ers offense…

Final Game Result: 49ers 31, Vikings 14
