Week 1 Review: San Francisco (1-0) vs Green Bay Packers (0-1)…

Well students welcome back. If you weren’t living under a rock you know about the fact that the 49ers went into lambau field and beat the Green Bay Packers in a fashion that some would call dominant. The 49ers went into the locker room at the half up 16-7 after a dominant 1st half by the defense. And although the special teams let the 49ers down for a completely dominant game. The Packers made an expected late charge but the 49ers held fast and got the win…

Game #1 – San Francisco 49ers vs Green Bay Packers

Offense: A- (Smith 20/26 211yrds 2TD’s, Gore 16/112yrds 1TD, Moss 4/47yrds 1TD): Now coming into this game I thought just like everyone else did that it would be Alex Smith struggling to put points on th board against a strong Packers defense. But Alex looked comfortable in the pocket and all the toys old and new were used Frank Gore had a great day. The offense overall had one of its best games in a long time and defiantly responded to almost every Green Bay score in the second half to get the victory…

Defense: B- (Passing Yrds All. 279yrds, Rushing Yrds All. 45yrds): The defense is where the 49ers really did shine although they were only able to get 3 sacks on the mobile QB Rodgers the 49ers front 7 were in his face all day. The cornerbacks weren’t exactly at their best but they made play after play on deep pass and kept the Packer offense from getting hot and piling up a lot of points. They gave up some points late but were also the key to the win. When Navarro Bowman intercepted Aaron Rodgers and allowed Gore to punch it in for a 30-15 lead. So to give credit where credit is due this win goes to the defense…

Special Teams: C+ (49ers 51yrds, Packers 153yrds): Unfortunately the 49ers did not excel in this area of the game whereas the Packers got a great day from Cobb who returned a punt for a touchdown and amassed 153 yards by himself. Overall not a stellar performance but the no mistakes can be considered a win in itself. The Packers overall did a poor job against the 49ers early but this particular factor of the team was special in a lot of different way…

Final Score: 49ers 30, Packers 22

Overall: B
