Welcome back students this is the first NFL Preview post. I will be giving my opinion on the 3 basic phases of an NFL game. Offense, Defense and Special teams and then I will give a prediction of how I feel the game is going to turn out. So look for this every week with the Raiders and 49ers and we will keep a running tally of a Win-Loss record…

Game #1 – Green Bay Packers vs San Francisco 49ers

Offense: GB: A/ SF: B+: The Packers definitely have an edge on offense. Being lead by Cal QB Aaron Rodgers and having just signed RB Cedric Benson the Packers are going to still score some points you just hope that they don’t go off for too much. The 49ers offense has a lot of new toys. And Alex Smith is coming off a much improved season. Can he continue to roll against a tough Packers defense in Lambaue….

Defense: GB: B+/SF: A- : On the defensive side the 49ers have the definant advantage having returned all of their defensive starters and added some depth thru offseason signings and the draft. But ultimately it boils down to Bowman and Willis and can they keep pressure on Aaron Rodgers and force him to make mistakes. The Packers return a solid defense that wasn’t that good against the run. With the stable of RB’s that the NIners have on roster they should be able to take advantage of that and keep mistakes to a minimum…

Special Teams: GB: B/ SF B+: This area is almost and even match. Both teams have strong special teams units. But the 49ers are at a weakness with return specialist Ted Ginn Jr being out for this week. Kyle Williams should be a decent replacement if not they have CB Cox and RB James to fill in and should be a decent fill in. Overall this area of the game should be exciting to watch and will most likely be the deciding factor in the end result…

Final Game Result Packers 17, 49ers 13
