Welcome students if you listened to the show on Sunday then
you heard some of my thoughts on Serena Williams winning the US Open. This is
the 4th time she has achieved this pinnacle in her tennis career.
She is a very special once in a lifetime talent and we are going to take a look
at that career today…
The
Williams sisters have been a phenomenon since they hit the scene in the mid 90’s.
And though older sister Venus has had her time in the spotlight as well. I believe
that now is Serena’s time she may not be #1 in the world but she is playing
like she is dominating opponent after opponent. I think the only match that truly
gave her a challenge was the Final against Victoria Azerenka. This girl has
come back to form and is ready to dominate for a couple more years she is only
30 years young. I tell you watching her is like watching a ballerina at her
best she is fluid and strong and showed that with ace after ace to be Azerenka.
When I watch either one of the Williams girls play tennis, I know I am watching
the sport personified. I know it seems as if this is nothing more than me
crushing on Serena but the #’s speak for themselves 500+ career wins over a 80%
win ratio. 45 career tournament titles and did I forget to mention that she is
only 30!!! Im just giving you something to think about. So congrats to Serena
for winning her 15th Grand

That
